Don Canady became the pastor of First United Presbyterian Church in March 2003.  He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, Wichita State University and Saint Paul School of Theology.

Don grew up in Gibbon, NE and married his high school sweetheart in 1963.  Don and Pam have two sons, Tim and Teresa Canady, and Mark and Theresa Canady, and six granddaughters.  They love the time they spend with family and friends.

Don is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  He is involved in ministerial activities in Fairbury.  He currently is serving as President of the Jefferson County Ministerial Association.  As a member of Homestead Presbytery, he serves as Moderator of Committee for Preparation of Ministry.

“In my 20 plus years of ministry my desire is to help people find a true and lasting relationship with their God.  It is our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, which gives us hope and strength to face each new day.  Our church is trying daily to discover ways to better serve the Fairbury community and the world.  As we strive to help others find their personal relationship with God we find ourselves growing in our faith.”

"My ministry in Fairbury is enhanced by an excellent staff. Without these people ministry in our congregation would not be possible. There are always those behind the scene people who are invaluable to a churches work. God blesses me each day with their devotion and commitment to our ministry."
